研究紹介

私の専門は民族音楽学です。
主に、日本の民謡と民俗芸能を対象とした調査と研究を行っています。
私の研究方法は主に2つあります。
まず、全国各地の民謡や民俗芸能のフィールド調査です。現地での聞き取りや実際に演奏を学ぶことで音楽の構造を分析したり、伝承のあり方を記録したりしています。また、その成果をもとに全国各地の無形民俗文化財の指定や登録に係る助言なども行っています。
もう一つは古い録音資料の整理・分類作業を通じた歴史研究です。日本の民謡調査は昭和時代初期に録音技術が一般化したことで飛躍的に進歩しました。古い録音テープから聞こえてくる歌声を、当時の文字や写真の記録と照合しながら、日本における民謡調査史を描き出そうとしています。

My Research Profile

I study ethnomusicology, which means I explore music as part of culture—especially Japanese folk songs and traditional performing arts.
My research has two main parts:
First, I travel to different regions of Japan to meet local people, listen to their music, and sometimes even learn to perform them myself. This helps me understand how the music is made and how it’s passed down through generations. I also support efforts to preserve these traditions by advising on cultural heritage registrations.
Second, I dive into old recordings—some from nearly a century ago! By listening to these voices and comparing them with old documents and photos, I am uncovering the history of folk music research in Japan.

私の研究室は、音の文化に関する研究だけでなく、日本の伝統文化一般を研究する研究室です。学生たちはそれぞれ自分の研究テーマを設定し、フィールド調査や文献調査を行っています。
